The IEC National Committee of Korea, hosted by KATS, with endorsement of the IEC, encourages you to send a team of three students and one teacher to participate in the 13th Student Standards Olympiad that will take place on 8 to 10 August 2018 in Yongin, South Korea.

Since 2015, the Student Standards Olympiad welcomes international teams from countries such as Japan, Indonesia, Peru or Rwanda. Both the students and their teachers had fun and learned much about standardization, hands-on.

The objectives of the Standards Olympiad are to “improve the awareness of middle and high school students across the world about standards and to contribute to comfortable and safe living by providing an opportunity to experience standards in everyday life.”
The overall first prize of the Olympiad is given to the winning team by the Korean Prime Minister and a special prize focused on a project in electro technology is awarded by the IEC General Secretary & CEO.

Programme, meals and accommodation in Korea are covered by KATS. Travel to Korea up to the event location will have to be covered by each participating country (some financial help is available for developing countries in the Official invitation letter by Korean NC and KATS)

N.B. IEC Affiliate Countries may want to contact the Korean National Committee which provides some financial support to developing countries.
